Coriander onion chutney


Coriander leaves                                                                  1 bunch

Big onion                                                                                1 no

Garlic                                                                                       1 piece

Dry red chili                                                                           3 or 4 no

Urad dal                                                                                  1 tsp

Gram dal                                                                                 1 tbsp

Curry leaves                                                                           1 strand

Required salt


For temper

Oil                                                                                             1 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                                                        1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                                            1 strand


Heat the pan with oil. Add urad dal, gram dal, red chili. Fry till the dal turns brown. And then add coriander leaves, onion, garlic. Saute well. let it cool down to the room temperature. Grind smooth paste with little water.Transfer to bowl.

Heat a pan add 1 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds,once mustard seeds popped add curry leaves.switch off the flame. Add the seasoning to the chutney.

Serve it with Idli or Dosa



Coconut Chutney

Coconut chutney


Coconut                                                                                    4  tbsp

Roasted gram dal                                                                    2 tbsp

Garlic                                                                                         1 piece

Green chilli                                                                               4 or 5no

Curry leaves                                                                             1 strand

Required salt

For seasoning

Small onion                                                                                1 finely chopped

Oil                                                                                                 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                                                            1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                                                1 strand


Grind all the ingredients  to a smooth paste with adding enough water. Add salt. Transfer to the bowl. Heat a pan with oil. Add mustard seeds. Once it popped add small onion and curry leaves. fry till the onion slightly brown. Switch off the flame. Add the seasonings to the chutney.

Serve it with Idli or Dosa



Badam Red chili Chutney

Badam red chili chutney


Badam (Almond)                                                                  20 nos

Rosted gram dal (pottu kadalai)                                       3 tbsp

Red chili                                                                                3 or 4

Garlic                                                                                     1small piece

Curry leaves                                                                         1 strand

For seasoning

Oil                                                                                        1 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                                                   1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                                       1 strand

Required salt



First soak the badam for 30 min.In a mixie jar add all the ingredients. Grind a smooth paste with adding enough water. Heat a pan add 1 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds  once mustard seeds popped add curry leaves.switch off the flame. Add the seasoning to the chutney.

Serve  it with Idli or Dosa.


Mango Rice

Mango rice


Shredded mango                                      ¾ cup

Shredded coconut                                    ½ cup

Peanut                                                        1 tbsp

Gram dal                                                     1 tbsp

Urad dal                                                      1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                1 strand

Mustard leaves                                           1 tsp

Coconut oil                                                  1 tbsp

Ghee                                                             1 tbsp

Green chili                                                   4 no

Cooked rice                                                  2 cups

Required salt


  1. Heat a kadai  with coconut oil.
  2. Add mustard seeds, gram dal, urad dal, peanut and curry leaves.
  3. Fry till the dals are golden brown.
  4. Add green chili and shredded mango. Saute for a while.
  5. Add shredded coconut. Saute till the coconut turns slightly brown.
  6. Add cooked rice and salt. Add ghee. Mix it well.

Serve it with Papad.
