                                         Mustard seeds                          1 tsp

                                         Fenugreek seeds                      1 tsp(vendayam)

                                         Manathakkali vathal              3 tbsp

                                         Small onion                              10 no

                                         Garlic                                          8 no

                                         Tomato                                       1 no

                                         Sambar powder                        2 tsp

                                         Tamarind water                       1 cup

                                         Sesame oil                                  4 tbsp

                                         Curry leaves                              1 sprig

                                         Required salt

                         For roast and grind

                                          Mustard seeds                          1.5 tsp

                                          Fenugreek seeds                      1 tsp

                                          Gramdal                                    1 tbsp

                                          Cumin seeds                            1 tsp

                                          Small onion                              6 no




  1. Heat a pan with oil, once oil heats roast the items one by one. Switch off the flame. Keep it aside for cooling completely. Then grind it to a fine paste.
  2. Heat a vessel with oil, once oil heats add mustard and fenugreek seeds. Once seeds are popped add curry leaves and manathakkali vathal. Then add small onion and garlic. Saute well. Than add chopped tomatoes. Saute well.
  3. Then add tamarind water and sambar powder. Let it boil. Then add ground paste and enough water. mix it well. Let it boil. Once raw smell goes, when oil comes out switch off the flame.

                                   Serve it with white rice.
