Peas Potato masala
Peas ½ cup
Potato 2 no
Tomato small 1 no
Big onion 1 no
Green chili 4 no
Mint leaves 6 no
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Fennel powder ½ tsp(sombu)
Roasted gram dal powder 2 tbsp
Fennel seeds ½ tsp
Cinnamon 2 small piece
Clove 2 no
Bay leaf 1 small
Oil 2 tsp
Curry leaves 1 sprig
- First soak the peas overnight or 4 to 5 hours.
2.Pressure cook the peas and potato for 1 whistle.
3.Heat a vessel with oil. Once oil heats add seasoning items.
4.Then add sliced onion and green chilis. Saute well. Then add tomatoes, fennel powder and turmeric powder. Saute well. Then add cooked peas. Then add ½ cup of water. Let it boil.
5.In a small bowl add roasted gram dal powder. Add ¼ cup of water. Mix it well without any lumps. Add this mixture to the masala. Let it boil.
6.Once the raw smell goes and gravy cooked well, add mashed potatoes and salt. Mix it well. Add enough water to get masala consistency. Once the masala cooked well,switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve it with poori or chappathi.
Note : You can use this masala for Masala Dosa.
