Moong dal sambar
Ingredients
Moong dal ¾ cup
Tomato 2 no
Small onion 6 no
Brinjal 1 no chopped
Potato 1 no chopped
Carrot 1 no chopped
Sambar powder 1 ½ tsp
Green chili 2 no
Coriander leaves for garnish
Required salt
For seasoning
Fennel seeds ½ tsp
Oil I tbsp.
Curry leaves 1 strand
Method
- Heat a vessel with 2 cups of water. Once water boils add moong dal.
- Let it boil. Once the dal cooked 3/4th add all the vegetables, sambar powder, hing and salt. Add enough water. Let it boil. Once all the vegetables and dal cooked well. Switch off the flame.
- Heat a pan with oil. When oil heats add fennel seeds. Once the seeds popped add curry leaves. Switch off the flame.
- Add the seasoning to the sambar. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve it with Idli or Dosa
