Mixed veg chutney


Big onion                                                    1 no

Shredded coconut                                     ¼ cup

Tomato                                                        2 small

Carrot                                                           1

Capsicum (chopped)                                  ½ cup

Garlic                                                             4 no

Red chili                                                        4 no

Gram dal                                                       1 tsp

Urad dal                                                         1 tsp

Pudhina chopped                                         ¼ cup

Coriander leaves chopped                          ¼ cup

Oil                                                                     1 tbsp

Required salt

For seasoning

Mustard seeds                                                  1 tsp

Oil                                                                        1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                       1 strand


  1. Heat a pan with oil add urad dal, gram dal, and red chili. Fry till the dal and chili slightly brown. Take this out. Let it cool down to room temperature. In the same pan add the onion and garlic. Fry till the onion turns slightly brown. Take this out. Let it cool down to room temperature.
  2. In the same pan add carrot and capsicum. Fry for 1 min. Take this out. And then add tomatoes,mint and coriander leaves. Saute well. Switch off the flame.
  3. After cooling down first add the dal and red chili to the mixer. Grind coarsely and then add all the remaining items. Grind smooth paste with out water. Add salt.
  4. Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds, once mustard seeds popped add curry  leaves. switch off the flame. Add the seasoning to the chutney.

Serve  it with Idli or Dosa
