Coconut redchilli chutney


For Grind

Coconut                                                       5 tbsp

Red chilli                                                      3 or 4 no

Roasted gram dal                                       2 tbsp

Garlic                                                            1 piece

Curry leaves                                                1 strand

Required salt

For seasoning

Oil                                                                  1 tbsp

Mustard seeds                                            1 tsp

Small onion                                                 1 chopped

Curry leaves                                                1 strand



Grind all the items with enough water. Put the chutney in a bowl. Heat a pan with oil add mustard seeds. once mustard seeds popped add small onion and curry leaves.fry till the onion slightly brown.switch off the flame. Add the seasoning  to the chutney.

Serve it with Idli or Dosa.


If you don’t want the garlic flavor you can skip it.

Another way  to seasoning the chutney with cuminseeds ,mutard seeds,        perungayam(hing)  and curryleaves.
