Tomato Chutney


Urad dal                                                                       1 tsp

Gram dal                                                                      2 tsp

Red chilli                                                                     3 or 4 no

Big onion                                                                     1 no

Tomato                                                                         2 no

Garlic                                                                            1 small piece

For seasoning

Mustered seeds                                                             1 tsp

Oil                                                                                    1 tsp

Curry leaves                                                                  1 strand

Required salt


Heat a pan with little oil add urad dal,gram dal,and red chilli. Fry til  the dal and chilly slightly brown.Take this out. Let it cool down  to room temperature. In the same pan add the onion and garlic. Fry til the onion slightly brown.Take this out and  cool down to room temperature.Add the tomatoes to the pan and cook the tomatoes well.When the tomatoes are mushy.Switch off the down to  room temperature.After cooling down first add the dal and red chilli to the mixer and grind coarsely and then add tomatoes and onion. Grind a smooth paste without adding water.

Heat a pan with oil.Add mustard seeds. once it popped add curry leaves. Switch off the flame.Add the seasonings to the chutney.

Serve it with Idli or Dosa
